Gawura Spirit Of The Whale
On the verge of this years whale season Patagonia Sydney City is hosting a special event night ‘Gawura Spirit Of The Whale’ 23rd May in Support of ORRCA.
Please join us Wednesday, May 23rd 2012. 7-9pm at 93 Bathurst Street, Sydney.
Dedicated to whale preservation we have special guests Shona Lorigan (vice president of ORRCA) and David Jenkins (Whale Spotter) joining us in-store for an educational whale presentation. Also featuring in the night, an acknowledgement of country and song by Matthew Doyle and Lois Birk, who will explain the spiritual connection between the whale and the salt water peoples of Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Come along and help us support ORRCA. This could be your chance to win some great prizes donated by Sydney Adventure Cruises and Patagonia.
ORRCA (Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia) works with the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage and other government agencies at whale standings and rescues. ORRCA is leading the way in developing more effective ways to rescue whales and other marine mammals. Every year ORRCA trains many members of government agencies (including the Office of Environment and Heritage) and its members in marine mammal rescue.
