Whale Tales From Patagonia Sydney

Thank you! Our humble little retail store, in Sydney City was filled with such a wholesome feeling on Wednesday evening during our Gawura event night. After hearing amazing presentations form Aboriginal elder Matthew Doyle, Vice president of ORRCA Shona Lorigan and David Jenkins from Whale spotter.

We at Patagonia Sydney feel so very privileged to be able to present nights like this to the community and offer a hub for informative events in support of great Australian organizations. Out of our raffle we raised money in support of ORRCA, which will be directed to their telephone hotline that facilitates marine rescues through out Australia year round.

Matthew Doyle gave a touching and insightful talk and performance on the spiritual connections between the traditional land owners and this majestic animal. Through song his story telling ability created images and feelings that captured the crowed and took them to another place.

Shona Lorigan and David Jenkins gave an engaging first hand experience presentation that was educational and insightful. There is so much to learn and love about these animals that after being inspired by these amazing individuals we were all left feeling like there is more we could do to help out.

A big thanks to the Sydney adventure cruises and David Jenkins who contributed generously to the fundraiser and our lovely photographer Nicki Akehurst.
