Looking for shelter but don’t like wearing a hat, mask and gloves? Made from ultralight, superbreathable 100% polyester with 50+ UPF sun protection, our technical Sunshade Hoody helps you stay cool and covered in hot-weather conditions. Providing complete upper-body coverage with a cool, airy feel and a movement-oriented fit, this flattering hooded sun shirt fits beautifully and works hard to keep you comfortable through the hottest days on the tropical flats. The hood shields the head and neck and fits easily over a baseball cap; the wrap-over design at the neck provides better airflow while shading the throat. A hidden zippered pocket on the lower-left hem holds small essentials, and thumb holes on the cuffs keep the sleeves over hands for additional protection.

Features

Lightweight, quick-drying 100% polyester double knit with 50+ UPF sun protection

Straight cuffs with thumb holes for additional sun protection for the backs of the hands

Hidden zip closure on lower front pocket

Artists by color code: Andy Earl (ITBI, ITDP), Patagonia Original Art (LALB, LABE)

3.5-oz 100% polyester double knit with 50+ UPF sun protection.

Fabric is certified as bluesign® approved

UPF Fabric

Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off.

To achieve sun protection, Patagonia takes a varied approach, depending on the degree of protection desired and the fabric used. Elements of the strategy can range from yarn selection to fabric construction to the use of special finishes (especially for light colors which generally provide less protection).

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

    Women's Fit Guide

Though each Patagonia® product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, we can generalize our fit descriptions in four ways:

Formfitting: Conforms to the body’s contours.

Slim Fit: Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

Regular Fit: Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers.

Relaxed Fit: Drapes loosely on the body.
