Action Time: Four Days Left to Stop Seismic Blasting

Fire up the keyboard. Multinational CGG is planning to seismic blast over 3,000 square kilometres of ocean – just off the coast from the Great Ocean Road, the iconic Twelve Apostles and Warrnambool – in their search for polluting gas.

This dangerous proposal includes plans to start seismic blasting just a few kilometres away from the last regular calving grounds for south-east Australia’s 300 remaining southern right whales and directly inside crucial feeding areas for endangered pygmy blue whales.

The regulator NOPSEMA is considering this proposal right now – and public submissions close this Monday 26 February!

Take action now: send an email calling on NOPSEMA to reject this seismic blasting proposal.
